Layla is a sweet girl who loves attention! She is a smart girl who is completely house trained and knows the commands sit, stay, no and come. Layla does sometimes bark when she gets excited or chimes in with the others however, she does not have the normal high-pitched sheltie bark. She is very good about stopping when you tell her too. Layla loves to play; her favorite toy is a ball or any toy shaped similar to a ball. If she can’t find anyone to play with her, she entertains herself by throwing the ball up and attacking it as it hits the floor. She loves to play tug of war, run, and wrestle with her fur siblings at her foster home and would do better in a forever home with a fur sibling.

Layla does not like fireworks or thunderstorms. Her anxiety level can get pretty high especially if the thunder is really loud. She has a comfort shirt and we are working on finding secondary form of relief for her during these time periods. One of the ways she self-copes during storms is to pace and pant, she does not bark during storms, so I doubt she barks during fireworks. She does not like to be confined to a room but likes to have free roam of the house, especially during storms.  We have found that she likes to have access to a bathroom and will sometimes lay down between the bathtub and toilet or get into the bathtub.  Layla also nips when she gets excited, this can get exacerbated during storms. She has never bitten down and we are working on correcting this. Because Layla nips when she is excited or anxious no small children please.

Layla is very good when left free to roam while we are gone. She does not get into the trash and is not destructive, even during storms. She really is a very good, loving girl who deserves a loving forever home that understands and is willing to work with her on her quirks.
