Sheltie Rescue of Central Indiana

My name is Riley!  I am a sable colored male sheltie weighing 27 lbs.  I have celebrated 14 birthdays and hope for more.  My arrival in rescue was due to the unfortunate passing of my owner who gave me a second chance at life by adopting me from a shelter two years ago.

Physically I am not a young pup but considering my age I do pretty good.  Even though I can't catch the squirrels and birds I still chase them.  Each day I get my exercise by walking on a leash which I am pretty good at.  They tell me this helps my arthritis for which I take a prescription.  Although most of my teeth are gone I still devour my food and any treats I receive.  At night I sleep like a log having to be awakened each morning.  During the day when I am not protecting my family from any evils that lurk near I fill the time with dog naps.

My favorite thing in life is sitting close to my loved ones.  I don't bother them just want to be close to keep them company.  My eyesight is not the best and I am a little deaf but I get around pretty good.  There are other dogs now in my foster home and I mostly ignore them except where food is involved.  My deep bark lets them know I am the boss at this time.  If possible a home where I would be the only dog would be my preference.  All I ask is another chance!  I am loyal, friendly, lovable and will fill any void in your heart!
